Moderators for PCA?

Post by Killerbob2000 »

Ok i know that Hardforums does it and im not saying we need to be more like them BUT..... it is a great way to get people more involved in the community and it would be great fun for people who would like to do it, i know this is a small Forum and what not but it is growing and i think it would be great to be able to do that, anyway its just a suggestion and if ya dont like it say summin, but it think its a good one, and maybey we can vote for who is to moderate certian section or just a few Moderators for the whole board, but whatever, LMK

I'm just wondering if you realize that there are moderators already in place for all forums on this board? Here at PCA we believe that moderators cannot be voted on, they are instead carefully selected from people that understand what PCA stands for and what it doesn't stand for. The people that do this are upstanding members of this and many other forums, ones that have been selected because they bring to the table the fact that they all want this board to succeed.

That is in fact one of the main differences that makes PCA stand apart from many different forums, the fact that it is not willing to compromise the integrity of its forums by departing from its core beliefs. Moderating forums is not something that can be done by popular demand, since any forum that is worth anything has to have moderators that are willing to stand up for the principles of the board they are moderating.

While I applaud you for the effort to involve others in this community more actively, this is not really a feasible consideration that can be followed up on (and the fact that there are already moderators in place). The fact that you don't see moderators posting most of time is a testament to the success of the board in attracting members that understand the kind of behaviors we tolerate and the kind we don't. Trust me when I tell you that these boards are patrolled by people that care about this board and what happens on it, and when it is needed those moderators will step in and do their job.

Once again, thanks for your suggestion though ;) .
