Cool cases to buy???

Post by Future »

Right now, I have a $32 generic case that came with a PSU, but Ive been wanting to upgrade this thing to something cool, but not sure all teh cool cases out there. I did spot a case made by Lian Li (?) and it was a silver colored aluminum case...was thinking on picking up that if I find nothing else cool :)

Lian Li is very good. I know Color Cases makes some neat looking cases, but I have no clue if they're any good or not. You should check out some reviews for those.

Antec Performance Series is an AWESOME line of cases. I bought the SX840 (40=400 W PS) and I love it! It has five spots for case fans, 2 in the back which are full by default. Then there are 2 in the front, and one more in the front of the hard drive cage. After purchasing this one, however, I learned about a company called http://addtronics.com/ (Addtronics). This company makes many OEM cases (meaning the company name is not well known). But, after looking at some of those cases, I have determined that they are pretty nice, and recommended by the Ars Technica "How to Build a PC" Guide.

Hope that helps.

Antec SX all the way. There are other cases that perform and are built as well as the Antec but not for the same price. The Lian Li you mentioned are around $200 you can get an SX for half of that. Of all the PC things I have ever bought the Antec case was the best money I have spent

I currently have an Addtronics 6890-A full tower case I purchased 2 years ago. It's a great case; roomy, good cooling, etc. However, from what I've seen and read, if I was to buy a new case right now (and not spend and arm and a leg) I'd get the Antec SX-840.

Go to http://www.pcabusers.com and look to the far left. Check out the case reviews on the Lian Li and the Stonex blue case for 2 reviews we have so far on cases from colorcases.com. A real good company by the way. ;)
