their new desktop is completely removeable. it's kinda cool thinking about windows as having a skinable interface. but you can diable that visual and have the regular old windows desktop. and to be honest, they made the old desktop look a little fancier too, i like the new look of the icons.
but for myself, i'm sticking with 2k. works great and is nice and stable...

I have it and it runs great, the new detonators for winXP came out which greatly improved 3D graphics. Now would be a good time to upgrade to XP.

k, tried it on 2 sytems here but not my main one yet. First tried it on a 566 celeron system with win 2k installed and on a soyo mobo. Didn't format, just tried installing through windows. Tried several times and each time once the agreement window came up it was real buggy. The curser wasn't controllable and the mouse did not move it where I wanted it to go. Couldn't even use the tab key to move things. It would just white out wherever the curser would go. Using a regular ps2 mouse and tried rebooting and trying some more but the exact same things happened.
Tred it on a p3 600 with me installed on it. Yes I hate it too so that's why I wanted to change. Anyway the install on this system went great. No problems at all. Had both a logitech serial mouse and a ps2 mouse attached and both worked fine all the way through. Except after XP was fully installed then the logitech will not work. Tried everything, uninstalling and reinstalling and changing serial ports but still no go. It might be because I had regular win98 drivers loaded for it initially, I don't know. Tried installing the win2k drivers but still no go for the logitech trackball. But the ps2 mouse works fine.
ok, I like it actually from what I am seeing so far. I like the looks of it, but I am partial to blue. Of course the looks can all be changed and customized. What's funny is I have a v3 3k installed in it with the last win98 drivers and forgot to install the v3 win2k drivers but it is working just fine in XP. I heard voodoo cards do not work with XP yet but this one is just fine so far.
Only bug I've found for now is it will not shut down properly. Instead it just restarts. You have of course the restart or shut down options and no matter which I select it just restarts. Have to just unplug it or flick the switch on the ps off. I've read where others are having this problem also.
