Post by Buzz »

I'm finally going AMD myself :)
Have already 512MB of Crucial on my desk and the Dragon+ and XP 1600+ is on it's way.

Anyone here have the Dragon+? You like it i hope?

Mines been running for 24 hours so far and it smokes. I tried an MSI 6380 Pro 2 but had nothing but problems that only got worse. I run RC5 so system is on 24/7 @ 99% CPU, my keyrate is 2.2 times
faster than my P111 @ 800. :) Its about the same as yours XP1600, 512 Crucial (another 256 on the way from Best Buy hot deal) Asus6800. Case sorta looks empty just my Vid and a capture card, useing
the onboard sound and lan. Front USB is nice too, I think you'll be happy with it.

One version is the original dragon board (the one made for KT266) just that they put the KT266A chipset on it, and placed a "Dragon Plus !" sticker over the "Dragon" silkscreen on the mobo.
The new version looks the same, but theyre using two larger caps near the cpu socket, and an extra cap near dimm1, and the "Dragon plus!" is silkscreened onto the mobo itself...oh, and with the new version u get the 8in1 cd ver. 3.0 instead of 2.0. Newer Ghost...

Look at pics at socketa.com and amdmb.com. Both sites ha reviews of the board, but they have different versions...

Pretty sure u also have the "old" version then..

But if the board runs great... i guess its nothing to rant about...? :)
