I had to put down 2 cats(same time)a few years ago.It killed me because they were the offspring of 2 other cats I had since I was a child and loved alot.They had gotten into anit-freeze and the vet said there was nothing that could be done.He gave me the option of putting them down himself or for me to do it.I chose to do it myself and burried them next to a big oak on my parent's property.

If you have cats do not leave anti-freeze on the ground after working on your car or leave open containers around for them to get into.To a cat anti-freeze is sweet and they will drink it.It's not a pretty site with what follows.

I bet the trolltech mods come here, see all the peopel ragging on them, then come down on any PCA people they see posting something. It probably kills them to see someone dogging them where they cannot ban them.

I'm sure that PCA isn't the first site to put down that poorly run and biased site, and I guarantee not the last.

I am not at all political.. I far prefer to have my many blonde moments and get along with as many of you as I can. I did make a donation to Steve's dogs as I am a pet owner and would be horrified if my animals were injuried and the only thing standing between them and life was $$$.

That said, in looking over my paypal records, there hasn't been a collection taken that I haven't given something to if I have a few bucks to spare.I did nothing for Steve that I wouldn't do for any other old time trader here. If that makes me a fool or a sucker so be it I guess.When I see pain or need among people who have given me so much over the years it is almost manditory for me to respond with small kind gesture however small.

My biggest wish and hope for 20002 is that we all thrive and prosper, that we,our families and pets enjoy good health and happiness and that the friendships started here can continue to grow and deepen.

Now before y'all think I've gone soft let me add that my next biggest wish is to build a rig that leaves all of yours choking in ithe dust

Todd, your first post in that thread was well thought out and to the point. Whether it is a scam or not I couldn't say. Seeing that Steve is a friend of mine I certainly hope not. As for Anandtech being a Troll haven, well with over 80,000 members (many of them now banned) the odds are they have their share. I wish you could have kept from getting yourself banned but I know your dislike for the place so I guess you felt you had to say what you did. It must be nice not having to kiss ass because you don't give a rat's ass whether you can post there or not

Maybe if some of the PCA Traders would just hang here instead of going there this place can become what it should be, a legacy to the old AGN, the Greatest Trading Site on the Interent. Kudos to Blade!!!

Get serious Mike. The only reason I got banned there was because I was disprupting the cash flow. Further, while I think you may mean well, I wish you wouldn't presume to "know" what I think as to whether I would care to post there or not, or on any other subject for that matter.

Feel free however to stop by here anytime and offer your opinions as you know they're always welcome. One thing tho , try not to yell at our newbies like you do at banandtech OK? :lol While of course we don't condone butt kissing, we also try to treat the "newbs" with respect too, here at PCA.

The whole "elite status" thing that goes on over there is a very strange phenomenon, what with the "penis envy" post counts and the like. Disagree with the elite members opinions and you are shouted down, edited, banned etc. Would make an interesting sociological study to be sure. Very similar to the caste system in India. That's a whole 'nother bag of potatoes ( sp? Dan Quayle ? ) tho that could be discussed for hours. Tonite I'll pass as I am hosting my daughter's New Years Eve sleep over for several 5th grade girls. Time to get the pizza and soda out for the fidgets.

NEways... all the points brought out are valid...
as for me... I have to admit that I've donate a couple bucks... but that's because I've dealt w/ Steve in days of old and I've gotten some nice deals off him before he turned trader... so I figure w/ what little holiday spirit I've got left, I could help out someone's money trouble...

everyone's entitled to helping out others any way they like... but you guys are right... when it becomes almost like a contest as to how much is donated, the whole point of the donation becomes lost...

I also do very much agree that there really are (at least in my opinion) greater needs elsewhere like those in NYC, I did what I could to help out after 9/11 ... however, who am I to tell pet lovers how to spend their money? All I can say is ... worry only about what you do w/ your money and your donations... and that about all you can do...

Whether one can prove if anything is a scam or not... there's really no sure fire way... but if people are fooled into a scam... they have no one to blame but themselves...

Bottom line (and I think really may be the main point of this post) is that Anandtech moderators have indeed at times become ban-happy and way out of control... what can you do when there's no one there to police those who police you? Move on... so hopefully those who have had enough of repressed speech and opinions at other places can find a home in PCA where there's more tolerance and respect for an individual's opinions and right to voice themselves (although being courteous is always important)

Further more any donations recieved over the amount needed to cure my cats disturbing problem will be spend on putting it to sleep and its elaboriate funeral. If enough $$ is raised I will send each "dummy" oh um doner a picture of the exquisit animal in its prime. Thanks for your bank roll and enjoy the new year.
